In a setting of vineyards rushing towards the forests, Alsace reveals all its attractions: remains of fortified castles, ancient ramparts and half-timbered houses. The warm inns make your stops pleasant and you have plenty of time to taste the local specialties. This week-long independent hiking tour also allows you to visit the beautiful city of Colmar at the beginning or end of your stay and the crossing of the Alsatian vineyards leaves you no other choice than to taste one of the great wines!

Day 1: Colmar

Late afternoon hotel pick-up in Colmar. This city of art boasts a large, well-preserved tourist and pedestrian center preserved old quarters such as Little Venice, medieval churches and numerous museums. museums. To visit Colmar, we advise you to arrive no later than late morning, otherwise plan an extra night at the end of your stay. Accommodation / meals : Overnight stay + breakfast in a *** hotel.

Day 2: Colmar - Riquewihr

Visit the medieval town of Turckheim, then walk to Kaysersberg, birthplace of Dr Albert Schweitzer, before reaching Riquewihr. Distance covered: 18 km - Activity time: 5 to 6 h - Ascent: 865 m - Descent: 800 m Type of transfer : Short morning cab transfer (15 min) from Colmar to Turckheim before your hike. Day 3: Riquewihr - Saint-Hippolyte

The hike takes you through the vineyards to the village of Hunawihr with its fortified church, then on to Ribeauvillé, dominated by the Ribeaupierre three castles. Further on, we discover the charming little town of Saint-Hippolyte, renowned for its Rouge de Saint-Hippolyte- at the foot of the Haut-Kœnigsbourg castle. Distance covered: 12 to 18 km - Activity time: 4 to 6 h - Total ascent: 300 to 600 m - Total descent: 370 to 670m Accommodation / meals: Overnight half-board in *** hotel

Day 4: Saint-Hippolyte - Chatenois

This day will be marked by a visit to the Haut-Kœnigsbourg fortified castle, to plunge you into the world of the Middle Ages. It dominates the Alsace plain, offering a unique panorama of the Vosges mountains and the Black Forest. Continuing down to Châtenois. Day 5: Chatenois - Itterswiller

Climb to the ruined castles of Ramstein (listed as a historic monument) and Ortenbourg, which stands on a rocky outcrop at 437 m altitude. Continue through the Bernstein National Forest. Day 6: Itterswiller - Barr

After a short stroll through the Itterswiller vineyards, continue to Andlau, nestled in a valley between vineyards and forest. This charming village is famous for its three grands crus (Kastelberg, Mœnchberg and Wiebelsberg). The remainder of this stage takes in the listed Château d'Andlau before descending to Barr. Distance covered: 12 km - Activity time: approx. 4.5 h - Total ascent: 430 m - Total descent: 475 m Accommodation / meals: Overnight half-board in a ** hotel or overnight stay with breakfast in a ** hotel (Wednesday and Thursday).

Day 7: Barr - Mont-Saint-Odile - Colmar

Loop hike from Barr to Mont Sainte Odile: discover the ruined Landsberg castle, listed as a Historic the Pagan wall and the monastery of Mont Sainte-Odile. In the late afternoon, short transfer by train of all guests and luggage (approx. 1 h) from Barr to Colmar. End of stay in Colmar in the evening. Distance covered: 16 km - Hour of activity: 5 to 6 h - Ascent: 675 m - Descent: 675 m
