Day 1: Arrival in Santiago

Welcome to Chile! Your French-speaking guide will pick you up from Santiago airport and take you to your hotel. Day 2: Santiago de Chile

In the company of your French-speaking guide and your driver, you set off for half a day to discover the Chilean capital, a metropolis nestled at the foot of the Andes and with unrivaled charms (lunch not included). Although over the years Santiago has become a modern and lively city, certain neighborhoods have retained all their romantic charm. From the very central Plaza de Armas to the colorful streets of the Bellavista district via the lush Santa Lucia Hill, you will learn more about the tumultuous and fascinating history of Chile during your visits.   Duration of the visit: 6 hours, lunch break time included.   Dinner at the famous central market at lunchtime during the visit. During this visit, you also go to the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art. Through pre-Columbian, Mapuche and Aymara arts you discover or rediscover "this Chile before Chile" and set off to meet the original peoples. Day 3: Santiago de Chile - Calama - San Pedro de Atacama

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel to take you to Santiago airport. Domestic flight from Santiago to Calama (approximately 2 hours, flight indicated as an option). Arrival at Calama airport and transport by private vehicle to the oasis of San Pedro de Atacama in the heart of the desert. The afternoon is free to take the time to stroll and stroll through the small streets of San Pedro. Suggestion: Visit the Meteorite Museum. Note: Closed on Monday. At nightfall, you leave with an astronomer towards the semi-professional observatory of San Pedro de Atacama, for an unforgettable session of discovery of the southern sky, without a doubt the most beautiful sky in the world. Enjoy 2 hours of observation in a friendly atmosphere, alternating between explanations from Alain Maury (passionate astronomer and founder of this observatory) and the 10 telescopes on the site. You end the excursion with a hot drink for a question and answer session, before returning to the village of stars full of eyes. Excursion open to other participants. Day 4: San Pedro de Atacama - Rainbow Valley - San Pedro de Atacama - Vallecito - San Pedro de Atacama

Let's go for a day of geology to discover the Rainbow Valley, which, as its name suggests, displays the colors that are born from the depths of the earth. Northwest of San Pedro, on the Cordillera de Domeyko, in the Matancilla Valley, you will find colorful stones that have their own history. You will walk in this Wild West setting between colorful mountains and herds of llamas left to graze throughout the area. We will take a winding road with a breathtaking view of the valley where the beautiful village of Río Grande is located, nestled at the bottom of the canyon and whose inhabitants live from agriculture and llama breeding, this village seems stopped by time.   Then we will have a page of history with the visit to the archaeological site of Hierbas Buenas, a place of passage for shepherds and caravans of llamas who travel the desert, it is a place of rest and ceremony where you can observe this and the drawings engraved in the rock which contemplate the tiwanaku era until the present day.   The Valley of the Moon, located ten minutes by car from San Pedro de Atacama, offers breathtaking landscapes. Carved by the wind but also by the few rains of recent millennia, the landscapes of this valley are unique and fascinating. Short walks on park trails. The hike takes you through a barren canyon, which nevertheless receives water from summer rains almost every year. Throughout the walk you can admire thick streaks of salt as well as landscapes with reddish tones. Day 5: San Pedro de Atacama - Licancabur Volcano - Salar de Tara - San Pedro de Atacama

The visit begins with the Chaxa Lagoon, which is part of the Salar de Atacama lagoons with ecosystems rich in biodiversity. It is also a nesting site for Andean and Chilean flamingos. They can be seen all year round. Then head to the high plateaus of Atacama, landscapes with spectacular color combinations, rare geological formations (generated by the whims of all the volcanoes that have inhabited this area), lagoons with color variations, a phenomenon that explained by its ecosystem and its water density, but also some animals, notably vicuñas and pink flamingos.   Night at the Casa Don Tomas hotel *** Standard room Included: picnic basket, excursion (private), French-speaking guide, room & breakfast

Day 6: San Pedro de Atacama - Salar de Aguas Calientes - Miscanti & Miniques Lagoons - San Pedro de Atacama

Departing from San Pedro de Atacama, we set off for a long day through the Atacama highlands, always avoiding the crowds as much as possible to be able to make the most of each place. On the program: landscapes with spectacular color combinations, rare geological formations, generated by the whims of all the volcanoes that have inhabited this area, lagoons with color variations, a phenomenon which can be explained by its ecosystem and its density water, but also some animals, notably vicuñas and pink flamingos.   During this discovery, we cross the Tropic of Capricorn on the Inca Trail. We go to the Tuyajto lagoon, to the Salar de Talar, also called Piedras Rojas (the Red Stones) where we can enjoy a path that takes us to the edge of the lake. Day 7: San Pedro de Atacama - Tatio Geysers - Calama - Santiago - Valparaiso

Early morning departure for the Tatio Geysers. Located more than four thousand meters above sea level in the Andean altiplano, the Tatio Geysers represent the third geothermal field in the world. Warmly equipped, it is early in the morning, when the sun rises, that we can observe a particular phenomenon: the fumaroles of the geysers.   These columns of vapor rise from each hot spring. There is a real contrast between the boiling water coming from the geysers and the temperature of the place which can be below -20°C in winter.   This visit is not limited to the geysers because we also discover, on the way back, the best part of the Altiplano to observe the fauna of the region as well as numerous marshes and peat bogs which offer an exceptional ecosystem such as the bofedal of the Río Putana, or the bofedal of the village of Machuca.   Return to San Pedro de Atacama before lunch.   Your driver will take you to Calama airport. Day 8: Valparaiso

Today you immerse yourself in the colorful world of street art in Valparaiso, through a walk through the streets of the Alegre and Concepcion "cerros", discovering local urban artists and Chilean and South American culture. , through the stories told by the frescoes. After lunch (not included), you go to an artist's studio to learn some spray-painting street art techniques. Then it's up to you! Day 9: Valparaiso

Today you have an appointment with Mauricio for a local cooking class. Chilean chef, he picks you up from your hotel and takes you to the port of Valparaíso to choose the fish. This is an opportunity for you to see local fishermen at work and to talk with them. He then welcomes you to his home to reveal one of the best-kept secrets of Chilean cuisine: traditional ceviche. Put on your apron and make the famous ceviche step by step with the help of the chef, then you enjoy it on its magnificent terrace.   You take advantage of your Ceviche workshop with Mauricio to discover pisco, this traditional Chilean and Peruvian grape alcohol and learn how to make the emblematic cocktail of your stay: the pisco sour. Day 10: Valparaiso - Santiago - Punta Arenas - Puerto Natales

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel to take you to Santiago airport. Domestic flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas (approximately 3h30, flight indicated as an option). Your driver welcomes you at Punta Arenas airport and takes you to Puerto Natales (approximately 3 hours drive). Free afternoon to discover Puerto Natales, a quiet little town in the Patagonian fjords. Stroll along the canal side, enjoy the restaurants or stop by to see Patagonian crafts at the Ether Aike market. Day 11: Puerto Natales

Your driver picks you up from your hotel in Puerto Natales and takes you to the Puerto Natales port. Departure for the excursion and boarding around 07:30. The journey begins at the Puerto Bories pontoon. Direction Mount Balmaceda (2035 m) north of Puerto Natales, in O'Higgins Park, almost unexplored by man except those who arrive by boat. Along the way, you can observe the woods of coihues, canelos and lengas from the boat. You follow the coast by the fjord, the boat gets closer to cormorants, sea bass and waterfalls.   You approach Mount Balmaceda and see the Serrano glacier. Disembark a little further north to discover the Balmaceda Glacier. Optional walk of about an hour round trip to get closer to the glacier.   Dinner at Estancia Los Perales.   Return to Puerto Natales in the afternoon around 5:00 p.m.   Excursion subject to weather conditions. Excursion in grouped service, available every day from October to March and on Sundays only from April to September. The Park being very extensive, today you explore different corners of it and enjoy new angles of view of the Paine massif. Different hikes possible depending on your level, your desires and the weather conditions of the day. Observation of fauna and flora.   Your guide, a Park expert, will provide you with valuable advice during this day for a magnificent experience of Chilean Patagonia.   This morning your driver picks you up from your hotel in Puerto Natales and you head towards Torres del Paine Park (approximately 1h30). Free afternoon in the capital to visit museums, walk in parks, climb Cerro Santa Lucia or Cerro San Cristobal (by funicular next to the National Zoo from the Bellavista district or on foot for the bravest!). From up there, enjoy the view of the city and the Andes mountain range from the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception and its imposing statue.
