Day 1: Sarria

Arrival in Sarria and installation at accommodation. Visit the old town, located on the heights. You will be able to discover examples of medieval architecture, whether sacred, civil or military.
2

Day 2: Sarria - Portomarin

This stage from Sarria to Portomarin could remind you of certain legends, including that of Merlin and the forest of Brocéliande. Shortly after Sarria, you will cross the Rio Celeiro via the Romanesque Asperra bridge. You will pass through the hamlets of Vilei, Peruscallo, Morgade and Moimentos and take a few corredoiras (large stones allowing you to cross streams) before arriving in Portomarin. At the beginning of the 1960s the town of Portomarin, then located on the banks of the Rio Mino, was drowned (following the construction of a dam). Stone by stone, the city's important monuments (the San Juan and San Pedro churches, the Palacio de Berbetoros, the Casa dos Condes, etc.) have been reconstructed identically in the upper town. When the waters are low, it is still possible to see some remains of the ancient city! 22.5 km, approximately 5 hours 45 minutes of walking.

Day 3: Portomarin - Palas de Rei

You will leave the upper town of Portomarin as you entered it, by taking its imposing staircase. As you leave the town, you will cross the artificial lake of Belesar via a footbridge. The presence of eucalyptus will become more and more frequent as you progress towards the west. Continuing the path, you will come across the Ligonde cross, raised among the oaks. Continue to Palas de Rei, literally "the king's palace", a town which, despite its name, has retained few vestiges of its past. 25 km, approximately 6h30 walk.
4

Day 4: Palas de Rei - Arzua

Once again, Galicia will keep its promises during this section. The beauties of this region will definitely make you forget the kilometers traveled, especially during this long stage. The villages of Casanova, Leboreiro or Furelos will open their doors to you. There you will discover traditional Galician constructions including the pazos, large old houses of the Galician nobility generally built between the 17th and 19th centuries, often accompanied by their horreos. In Arzua, a short walk will allow you to contemplate the vestiges of this town's past. 29.5 km, approximately 7.5 hours of walking. Possibility of cutting this step in two, contact us.

Day 5: Arzua - Lavacolla

After a somewhat labyrinthine route, dotted with farms, hills, and hamlets, you have arrived in Lavacolla! Passing through this village is a way of experiencing the Camino Francés according to the rules and tradition. Medieval pilgrims in fact necessarily stopped at Lavacolla before arriving in Santiago de Compostela for a bit of toiletries. They cleaned themselves, prepared themselves, took off their clothes soiled by walking in order to go and honor Saint James as worthily as possible. The city is still marked today, in its name, by this long-standing tradition. 29.5 km, approximately 7.5 hours of walking. Possibility of cutting this step in two, contact us.

Day 6: Lavacolla - Santiago de Compostella

Home straight to Santiago de Compostela! From Monte do Gozo, you can already see Santiago de Compostela and its many bell towers. But the path is not yet over, a few kilometers still separate you from the mythical city, time for you to remember the journey you have taken. After crossing the Porta do Camino with joy and emotion, you can finish your Camino Francés through alleys, squares and old neighborhoods of the city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, until you arrive in front of the cathedral. End of the program and services in Santiago de Compostela at the end of the afternoon. 10 km, approximately 2h30 walk.
