Transfer to San Francisco airport and flight to Las Vegas. Pick-up of rental car at Las Vegas airport. Pick-up of camping equipment at our local correspondent's office.

Day 5: Las Vegas - Grand Canyon

Last drive in Las Vegas, then on to the Grand Canyon via the historic Route 66. Turn up the sound in your car to get into the exhilarating retro atmosphere of this road, and don't miss a stop in Seligman. Discover the breathtaking Grand Canyon National Park: a succession of short walks will take you to its most beautiful vantage points. Day 6: Grand Canyon

Visit the must-see Grand Canyon National Park. Follow our advice via your roadbook to select the best walks and hikes from the multitude of possibilities. Hikes into the canyon, right up to the edge of the Colorado (to be prepared carefully).

Day 7: Grand Canyon - Page

Hit the road for Page and Lake Powell. Stop off at Horseshoe Bend to admire this aesthetic meander of the Colorado River, visit the famous Antelope Canyon, then enjoy the lake by renting kayaks to explore the many canyons at your own pace. Day 8: Page - Monument Valley

Enjoy a last swim in the lake before heading off to the mythical Monument Valley. Discover these famous landscapes seen in John Ford's Westerns in its most beautiful light at sunset, by car on your own, or on a guided 4x4 or horseback excursion.
