This volcanic cave is located to the west of the island. The lava tunnel was designed by the famous César Manrique and harmoniously combines nature and architecture. The lake inside the cave is also splendid, especially with its small albino crabs. You can enjoy a drink in the cafeteria to soak up the magical atmosphere.

Day 2: Timanfaya - Arrecife
Suggested visit: Timanfaya National Park
A must-see spot on the island, Timanfaya National Park boasts a unique volcanic landscape that is sure to amaze. At the Mountains of Fire, you can witness an impressive geothermal display. The volcano is hot enough to cook meat! You finish your visit on the Volcano Route. You'll wind your way through a splendid canyon of a thousand colours before returning to the starting point.

Geria is a wine-growing region protected by UNESCO, where the vines are planted in holes (around 20 cm deep) to conserve moisture and protect them from the violent winds blowing in from the Sahara, such as the Calima. The predominant variety is Malvasia.
The Canaries are a veritable museum of the vine, with over 30 varieties, since the archipelago was never affected by phylloxera.

A town in the north of Fuerteventura, La Oliva is known for being very agricultural. It lies in the island's hinterland, surrounded by impressive volcanoes.
In the past, the town grew olives and reared goats. The town's name, which is also depicted on the town's coat of arms, originated from these crops.

A visit to the island's capital is a must if you want to get a feel for Gran Canaria. You can start your visit by wandering through colonial houses and cobbled streets in the historic centre of the La Vegueta district. Don't miss the Santa Ana cathedral, the Vegueta market and the Triana shopping district. For the curious, the capital is home to two interesting museums on the history of the first inhabitants of Gran Canaria and Christopher Columbus. You can round off your visit with a swim at Las Canteras, the capital's famous sandy beach.

Take a first dive off the coast of Gran Canaria.
After a brief explanation of how the equipment works, the signs, the fauna and flora, you'll dive to discover the island's magnificent seabed. During this first experience, you will be accompanied by the instructor at all times. You'll dive to a maximum depth of 6 metres and spend around 45 minutes in the water. You'll be able to admire trumpet fish, sea bream, moray eels, octopus, starfish, rays, etc.

This 400-hectare protected natural area on Gran Canaria comprises a large beach, a field of white sand dunes, a palm grove and a small lake, like an oasis in the desert. Located in the south of the island, the dunes can be up to 10 metres high and are home to a wide range of biodiversity, including migratory birds, giant lizards and rabbits. It's (almost) impossible to get lost here, as a 68-metre-high lighthouse is always visible. To visit the dunes, you can go to the free visitors' centre at the Riu Palace hotel, from where a path starts that will take you through the natural park all the way to Maspalomas beach.

Day 10: Picos de la Nieves - Ingenio

This is Gran Canaria's wildest protected area. Located in the west of the island, it alternates between native pine forests, steep cliffs and ravines rich in biodiversity. In addition to the El Blancón viewpoint, which offers splendid panoramic views of the island's cliffs, there are numerous hiking opportunities.
Suggested visit:
Whether on foot, by car or by bus, make a stop at the Pic de Las Nieves.
From this viewpoint, at an altitude of 1,949 metres, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view. Overcast or clear, you'll be enchanted by the nature reserve and the distant presence of Tenerife's highest peak. In addition to the natural and rural park that surrounds you, admire the famous sunset!

When it comes to sightseeing, there's no shortage of emblematic monuments: take a trip to the magnificent cathedral of La Laguna, the baroque palace of Casa Salazar or the church of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción (where you have to climb the bell tower to get some great views). You can also visit the Plaza del Cristo market every morning.

Day 13: Icod de los Vinos - Garachico
Discover the architectural treasures of north-west Tenerife. On this walk, you'll discover the Icod de los Vinos valley and the colonial town of Garachico via the island's footpaths.
You'll see traditional twentieth-century architecture, Canarian vegetation and local cultures. There are, of course, plenty of viewpoints along the way.
