The walks we suggest will also enable you to discover and visit some of César Manrique’s finest creations: Mirador del Rio, Jardin de Cactus, Jameos del Agua, Cuevas de los verdes, César Manrique Foundation… A contemporary painter, sculptor and architect, he has integrated his art into the landscapes of the island where he was born. An ardent defender of the environment, he worked to promote a harmonious tourism development policy, such as building houses in the traditional way, eliminating advertising hoardings and power lines in the countryside and restricting development in urban areas. His actions led to the island’s full classification by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve.

Day 1: Lanzarote - Arrecife

Meeting point in Arrecife. Pick up your rental car at the airport and check into your accommodation. Accommodation / meals : Night only or night + breakfast in an apartment, depending on the package chosen.

Day 2: Guinate Valley - Monte Corona

Hiking in the north of the island from the Miradors de Guinate and del Rio. A magnificent ridge trail between the terraced fields of the Guinate valley and the cliffs of Risco de Famara. After climbing the Los Helechos volcano, perched at 581 m above sea level, the route skirts the majestic Monte Corona (optional ascent) through the Ye vineyards. Day 3: Timanfaya National Park - Caldera Blanca

Morning: visit to Timanfaya National Park, made up of volcanic debris. Visit to the interpretation center and 1-hour bus tour of the island's most recent volcanoes (fee payable). Afternoon: climb the impressive Caldera Blanca volcano (458 m) on the outskirts of Timanfaya National Park. The trail around the crater gives a good overview of this highly representative volcano. Day 4: Graciosa Island - Montana Amarilla

From the small port of Orzola in the north of Lanzarote, board for the small island of La Graciosa (20-30 min crossing). Discover the south coast and climb the small volcano of Montaña Amarilla. Unforgettable views of this little lost paradise paradise, but also of the entire western fringe of Lanzarote, including the Risco de Famara, a majestic cliff 550 m high. Return to Lanzarote by boat in the early evening. Day 5: Haria - Teguise

Linear hike from the magnificent Haria palm grove to the ancient capital of Teguise Island. Pathway on an old path which leads you successively into the Malpaso valley, to the Peñas del Chache (highest point of the island at 670 m altitude) and to the Ermita de las Nieves before the beautiful descent towards Teguise. Return to Haria by regular bus. Day 6: Los Ajaches Natural Park OR Geria - Guardilama

Go to the south of the island for a hike which takes place through a wild setting with a -western- atmosphere in the heart of oldest volcanic massif on the island, classified for its natural geological and paleontological riches. From Playa Quemada, the route rises to the peaks dominating the green valley of Yaïza to descend to the coast lined with rocky cliffs. On the way back, beautiful little uncrowded beaches allow you to enhance the day with a welcome break. 8.5 km - Approximately 3.5 hours of walking - 500 m ascent - 500 m descent OR WINE-GROWING PLAIN OF LA GERIA - ASCENSION OF GUARDILAMA Crossing the magnificent plain of La Geria, a wine-growing area where each vine stock has been planted in a cone of slag volcanic protected from the wind by a small dry stone wall. Ascent of Guardilama (603 m) for a last panorama unforgettable on this unique site and on the entire southern part of the island of Lanzarote. Day 7: Graciosa or Lanzarote

GRACIOSA ISLAND - PEDRO BARBA AND PLAYA DE LAS CONCHAS For good walkers, return to Graciosa from the small port of Orzola. Hike on the coastal path to discover the Page 2 / 9 forgotten village of Pedro Barba and the heavenly beach of Las Conchas. Return by boat at the end of the day to Lanzarote. Distance covered: 18.5 km - Hour of activity: 5 to 6 hours - Elevation gain: 230 m - Elevation loss: 230 m OR ON LANZAROTE: EL GOLFO - PLAYA EL PASO TRAIL Coastal path on lava flows, with lava tubes, arches and cliffs. South of the village of El Golfo, you you can discover the green lagoon. Distance covered: 6 km - Hour of activity: 2 hours - Elevation gain: 180 m - Elevation loss: 180 m CALETA DE FAMARA - PLAYA SAN JUAN AND MONTANA CAVERA The village of Caleta de Famara has one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, but this beach is especially suitable for practicing surfing due to its powerful winds which blow almost constantly. Nice walk from the pretty little San Juan beach towards the Montaña Cavera volcano which offers beautiful views.
