Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

- Arrival in Delhi. - Welcome with a flower necklace and Mauli. Welcome with a flower necklace and Mauli on arrival at Delhi airport, meet the Sentiers Du Monde representative and your guide who will accompany you on the tour. Transfer to hotel and check-in (rooms will be available from 2:00 pm) Overnight at hotel. MAULI Red thread or Kalava symbolizes longevity and protection from enemies. That's why it's also called "Raksha thread". The Mauli has many attributes, and is known as a protective shield that keeps evil/negative energies and worldly problems at bay. The Mauli is also tied to receive the blessings of the venerated deity during the puja (prayer) or havan (sacred fire) ceremony.

Day 2: Delhi - Leh

Day 3: Leh

Today, we explore the old town and the stories around every path and building. We'll head to a village for a celebration of archery and horseback riding. Heritage walk in the old town. In the pages of history, the ancient capital of Leh marks one of the greatest intercultural crusades of its time! A bustling trading post on the Silk Road, it gave birth to a trans-Himalayan lineage, nourished by the valleys of Baltistan and Afghanistan, while dynastic domination infiltrated from the highest abysses of the Tibetan plateau to the kingdoms of the Mongol empire... We've traced a path of hidden trails shading the glory of the Silk Road era and all it left behind... Look for timeless stories and let them illustrate the history that once existed on a grand scale! Museum of Central Asia The tranquil courtyard recalls history, and the fortified structure houses relics of the eternal escapade of traditions that have transpired here over time... Bringing to life the Tibetan, Kashmiri, Baltistan and Ladhaki origins of the land. La Las Café An old-fashioned raw-brick café with ahistory rooted in romance! Andre Alexander,a revered historian and traveler, built the innate structure of his Tibetanwife, La La, and it remains true to the story of their love, long after they left. Munshi House : Explore the endless prehistoric vistas to be found in the original residence of the king's tax collector! Proudly known as the Munshi House, its primitive kitchen still retains the original earthen pots, and the interior is a profound reflection of Ladakh's vernacular architecture. Leh Palace A bold architectural feature we all admire, the masonry walls of Leh Palace have watched over the old town like a protective parent since the 16th century. Erectedwithout machinery or modern engineering, they have prevented time fromdiminishing their age -old glory, keeping their perpendicular perfection intact to this day. Tsemo Namgyal The walls of Tsemo radiate a forgotten light. Fortified to celebrate an ancient victory, their presence today is silent and elusive, that of a humble spectator who retains a distant dignity while losing all its glory. Ladakh polo is one of the major traditional games of the western Himalayas and has been the pride of Ladakh for 23 years. Although originally from Central Asia, the game has been played since time immemorial on the far eastern borders of India. Day 4: Leh - Nubra

- The Nubra Valley has always been a cultural crossroads. - Explore the village. - A camel safari. - An aperitif on the dunes the day before, followed by a stargazing session Breakfast at the hotel. The Nubra Valley has always been a cultural crossroads. You'll explore the village, visit the Deskit monastery and the sand dunes in the afternoon, followed by a camel safari. The group will arrive at the Sumur dunes and then travel by camel to the village, followed by a picnic lunch. An aperitif on the dunes the night before, followed by a stargazing session. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Nubra

- Optional: 1-hour yoga session - The Karakoram experience - Optional: Attend a Ladakhi culinary presentation Optional: 1-hour yoga session Yoga is an ancient and complex practice, rooted in Indian philosophy. It began as a spiritual practice, but has become popular as a means of promoting physical and mental well-being. Breakfast at the hotel. Today we'll take a short hike from Lake Tirisha to the village of Sumur via urgi (petroglyph), lunch in a 200-year-old house followed by a storytelling session with the village chief. The Karakoram experience Enjoy a simple, nutritious, whole-grain Ladakhi meal served by local women in a 400-year-old ancestral home, right next to the KarakoramMountains, on the ancient Silk Road. The experience is nothing less than a glimpse of traders stopping off in a caravan hundreds of years ago. Later, we'll have a private audience with one of the monks from Sumur monastery. Optional: Attend a Ladakhi culinary preparation. No culinary trip to Ladakh is complete without savoring Momos, the beloved steamed ravioli that came over fromTibet to become a staple of Ladakhi cuisine. These delicate packets are filled with a variety of fillings, from minced meat to vegetables, and sometimes even cheese. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Nubra - Pangong Tso

- Departure by road to Pangong Tso - Optional: Picnic lunch on the shores of Lake Pangong. Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we cross the magnificent Shayok River, following the valley and the river. Pangong Lake lies in the far east of Ladakh, 1/3 in China and 2/3 in India. Pangong-TSO is the world's largest high-altitude saltwater lake, spread over India and Chinese territory. Lunch in local restaurant. Optional: Picnic lunch on the shores of Lake Pangong. We'll reach the lake and enjoy the view with an evening bonfire. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Pangong Tso - Leh

- Departure by road to Leh - En route visit to the Thiksey monastery Breakfast at the hotel. Today we return to Leh town via the Changla Pass and also visit the Thiksey monastery for a spiritual visit, followed by a sumptuous Lunch at the monastery restaurant. Later transfer to hotel Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Leh - Dehli

- Fly to Delhi. - Orientation tour of Delhi Breakfast at the hotel. Lunch on board. Then off to the airport for your flight to Delhi. After arrival in Delhi, orientation tour of Delhi, passing the India Gate and the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Later transfer to hotel, time to relax. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
