The Black Forest, a mountain range in southwestern Germany, is renowned for its lush greenery, friendly people and subtle culture. Dominated by the Feldberg, which rises to 1,493 m, this region is also known for the benefits of its air and water, with 17 spa towns that were already popular in Roman times. Composed of spruce and fir trees, the forest gradually unveils opens out onto magnificent lakes, valleys and plateaus, where your gaze wanders to the horizon. During our our itinerary, you’ll focus on the “mountain” aspect of the region, covering the slopes of the Feldberg, the deep glacial valleys, as well as the peaks of Herzogenhorn, Knöpfesbrunnen and Muggenbrunn. You’ll also discover charming traditional architecture: typical villages where time seems to have stood still, domed churches as in St. Blasien, chalets blending into the landscape… In addition to its spellbinding natural beauty, the Black Forest also has a distinct cultural identity and delicious gastronomy.
