The Black Forest, a mountain range in southwestern Germany, is renowned for its lush greenery, friendly people and subtle culture. Dominated by the Feldberg, which rises to 1,493 m, this region is also known for the benefits of its air and water, with 17 spa towns that were already popular in Roman times. Composed of spruce and fir trees, the forest gradually unveils opens out onto magnificent lakes, valleys and plateaus, where your gaze wanders to the horizon. During our our itinerary, you’ll focus on the “mountain” aspect of the region, covering the slopes of the Feldberg, the deep glacial valleys, as well as the peaks of Herzogenhorn, Knöpfesbrunnen and Muggenbrunn. You’ll also discover charming traditional architecture: typical villages where time seems to have stood still, domed churches as in St. Blasien, chalets blending into the landscape… In addition to its spellbinding natural beauty, the Black Forest also has a distinct cultural identity and delicious gastronomy.

Day 1: Hinterzarten

Arrival in Hinterzarten, the pearl of the Black Forest in south-west Baden-Württemberg. Check-in at your accommodation. Accommodation / meals : Night + breakfast in a hotel

Day 2: Hinterzarten

Ascent to the Feldsee lake (1,109 m), nestling at the bottom of a glacial cirque. This lake was formed during the last ice ages and is supplied by snowmelt from the surrounding mountains. Descent through the Seebach valley and the Silberberg massif to Hinterzarten. Day 3: Hinterzarten - Menzenschwand

Climb the eastern flanks of the Feldberg (1,493 m), the highest peak in the Black Forest. You'll be surrounded by magnificent forests, in Germany's largest nature park and protected area. Gentle descent into the glacial valley of the Menzenschwander Alb. Day 4: Menzenschwand

Today, there are several hikes to choose from. The first option takes you to the heights of Menzenschwand, with its many the Menzenschwander valley. At the end of your hike, you can relax in the village's village spa. Distance covered: 16 km - Activity time: approx. 4.5 h - Total ascent: 420 m - Total descent: 420 m Accommodation / meals: Overnight half-board in hotel Option: Hike to the village of Saint-Blasien and its magnificent domed church. The imposing complex of the former Benedictine abbey is a real architectural gem. We invite you to take the time to visit this unique building. Return to Menzenschwand by scheduled bus. 10 km - approx. 2 h 30 walking time - ascent: 100 m - descent: 210 m.

Day 5: Menzenschwand - Todtnau

Ascent of the Herzogenhorn (1,415 m) via the Kleinesspiesshorn. The third highest peak in the Black Forest, today's hike day's hike takes you along beautiful forest trails, and on a clear day you can see the Swiss Alps and Mont Blanc. on a clear day. Then cross the Prägbach valley before reaching the Wiese valley and the friendly town of Todtnau. Day 6: Todtnau

Beautiful hike on the Todtnau heights, with many panoramic views over the valley, towards Todtnauerhutte. You between the Belchen and Feldberg mountains, surrounded by pastures and coniferous forests. Todtnau has many Germany's highest waterfall (97 m). Distance covered: 14 km - Time spent: approx. 5 h - Total ascent: 280 m - Total descent: 850 m Accommodation / meals: Overnight half-board in hotel Variant : Hasenhorn hike - short chairlift ride up the slopes of the Hasenhorn, then return on foot via the Bernauer Kreuz. 10 km - 3 h 30 walking time approx. - ascent: 210 m - descent: 570 m

Day 7: Todtnau - Hinterzarten

Last stage of your Black Forest tour. A beautiful, long return journey to Hinterzarten, with superb views of the Feldsee lake. End of tour and service in Hinterzarten. Distance covered: 15 to 21 km - Activity time: 3.5 to 5.5 h - Ascent: 515 to 815 m - Descent: 520 to 560 m
