Day 1: Lima

Welcome at the airport by our French-speaking representative and delivery of your travel documents. Night at the Costa del Sol Wyndham Lima Airport hotel. Day 2: Lima-Puerto Maldonado-Tambopata Research Center

Flight to Puerto Maldonado. Reception at Puerto Maldonado airport and transfer to the lodge offices located 10 minutes from the airport. You will leave your large luggage there and only take with you what you need for your getaway to the Amazon. Note: Two transfers possible at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. After 2 p.m., no transfer to the Lodge will be made   You then leave by minivan towards the port of the native community of Infierno (around 1 hour drive). You board a motor boat to reach the lodge located 2.5 hours away on the Tambopata River. A packed lunch is served to you on board the boat for lunch. The lodge is the only establishment located in the Tambopata national reserve, it is considered the most isolated lodge in all of South America! In the 700,000 uninhabited hectares of the reserve, observing capybaras, caimans, geese, macaws and other large species is more than common.   Arrival at the lodge and welcome by the lodge staff. You will meet your guide and the other travelers who will make up your small group. Your guide will explain to you how the lodge works and will present the different activities available to you.   Dinner and overnight at the Tambopata Research Center lodge*. in a Comfort room. *All the lodge's rooms open to the outside for better contact with nature. Day 3: Tambopata Research Center

First day dedicated to the discovery of the Amazon. The program will have been defined the evening before, in agreement with your guide and the other members of your group. Here is a non-exhaustive list of possible excursions: Excursion to the Collpa of parrots and macaws Wildlife observation: caimans, monkeys, birds and with a little luck a juguar! Hike in the heart of the jungle to observe the Ceibas, the largest trees in the Amazon, considered sacred by the locals. Butterfly watching: the Tambopata region has the largest quantity of butterfly species in the world Night walk to discover all types of insects and other animals (tarantulas, colorful frogs and sometimes some mammals) Watching the sunset by boat from the river Note 1: The activities mentioned above are given for information only and must be chosen in agreement with the other members of the group. It is possible that certain activities are not available or not recommended by the lodge during your stay. Note 2: Even if the chances of observing wildlife are high for being in the heart of the jungle, we remind you that this remains uncertain. After breakfast, return to Puerto Maldonado. You go through the lodge offices to collect your luggage before transferring to the airport. Flight to Cusco. Arrival in Cusco and transfer to the hotel in the Sacred Valley. Night at the Las Qolqas Eco Resort hotel. Day 6: Sacred Valley - Maras - Moray

Departure for a day of mountain biking in the upper part of the Sacred Valley of the Incas to discover the most emblematic sites of the region! The hike begins at the village of Chinchero. You continue your bike ride along the Huaypo lagoon. This place is still preserved from mass tourism, it is in complete tranquility that you can appreciate the beauty of the crystal clear waters of this lagoon and enjoy an exceptional panorama with a view of the surrounding snow-capped peaks and glaciers, notably the Salkantay. Behind these peaks is another better-known lagoon: the Piuray lagoon.   Then, head to the archaeological site of Moray made up of several terraces arranged in circles, which served as agricultural laboratories for the Incas. The position of these terraces allowed the creation of a series of microclimates, which the Incas used to increase agricultural yields and thus feed the inhabitants of the Sacred Valley and other regions of the Empire.   You then reach the salt pans of Maras: salt pans in the heart of the Andes! The site is made up of hundreds of suspended terraced pools, which date from pre-Incan cultures and which are still exploited today. The route ends in the village of Urubamba.   Notes: Departure at 8 a.m. if you leave from Cusco, departure at 9 a.m. if you leave from a hotel in the Sacred Valley. Day 7: Ollantaytambo-Aguas Calientes -Machu Picchu-Aguas Calientes -Ollantaytambo

You board the first class train to Aguas Calientes, starting point for Machu Picchu. Train in the morning. You join the shuttles which take you to the entrance gates of Machu Picchu. Departures, for both the ascent and descent, are every 5 minutes and the journey lasts approximately 30 minutes. Notes: shuttle times in the uphill direction Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu: from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. last shuttle in the direction down Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes: 4:45 p.m. Arrival at the site of Machu Picchu , wonder of the world. Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city from the 15th century in Peru. Abandoned during the collapse of the Inca Empire, the sacred city of the Incas, forgotten for centuries, is considered a master work of architecture of this civilization. It was re-revealed by the American archaeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911. Since 1983, the site has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list . On July 7, 2007, Machu Picchu was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World by the NewOpenWorld Foundation. Finally, the site is part of a whole cultural and natural ensemble known as the “ Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu ”.   Note: Entrances to Machu Picchu are divided into 4 tickets and the duration of stay on the site is limited.   The Llacta Machu Picchu ticket is included in this proposal. This ticket gives access to the classic and most complete visit to the Machu Picchu site, including the upper part (terraces and platforms section) and the lower part (urban section) of the ruins. The duration of the route is 2h30 to 4h00. We will communicate to you the entry time to the site that we recommend according to your program. After this confirmation, the entry time on the site cannot be modified.   Note: It is possible to plan the ascent of one of the mountains of Machu Picchu: Huayna Picchu, Montaña or Huchuy Picchu (subject to availability at the time of booking). These tickets only give access to the lower part of the ruins in order to go directly to the ascent checkpoint. Day 8: Ollantaytambo - Sacred Valley

Departure from your hotel early in the afternoon to reach Pachar, located between Ollantaytambo and Urubamba. After receiving complete equipment and safety instructions you set off for 3 hours of adventure!   You climb a rock wall in complete safety, thanks to the system installed throughout the wall, made up of cables and iron stairs.   400 meters from the valley, you reach the Skylodge (plexiglass module suspended on the mountainside!).   Installation and presentation of amenities.   After free time to enjoy the landscape, your guide brings you a delicious hot dinner. You fall asleep, the valley beneath your feet, contemplating the Milky Way.   Note 1: availability of the skylodge to be reconfirmed when booking. Note 2: night at skylodge only from 15 years old. Day 9: Sacred Valley - Cusco

When you wake up, you have a full breakfast in the fresh air, on a platform installed above the modules. After breakfast, you walk for about half an hour (totally secure trail) on the mountainside to reach the first zip line. Once harnessed, you launch into the air for a thrill.   The course has a total of five zip lines, from 150 to 500 meters, which allow you to reach the heart of the valley.   Transfer to your hotel.   Departure for half a day dedicated to discovering the historic center of the Inca capital, with your French-speaking guide. You will stroll through the alleys and small squares of the San Blas district . Cusco is a thousand-year-old city full of charm. You will be fascinated by the precision and perfection of the stone constructions, an interesting mix between Inca and colonial architecture . You will come across men and women in traditional , colorful outfits , who have come for the day from the Sacred Valley to sell their products in the city's various markets.   Visit to the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), and the cathedral which has numerous paintings and other treasures of goldwork, silver and precious stones. Day 10: Cusco - Pisac - Cuscu

At 6:00 a.m., departure by private vehicle towards the village of the Paru Paru community located in the heights of Pisac (4,200 meters above sea level). After 2 hours of driving, you arrive on the banks of the Kinsa Qocha lagoon , the starting point of the hike. The trail runs along the Kinsa qocha lagoon, which means “3 lagoons” in Quechua, without difficulty. Along the way, you will be able to observe the different agricultural terraces and depending on the time of year you may come across farmers who still work the land using the region's ancestral techniques.   You arrive at the Puma qocha lagoon , so called for its Puma shape, then finish at the Azul qocha lagoon where the inhabitants of the community practice trout farming.   During this hike, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the sacred mountains Apus Pitusiray, Apu Sahuasiray, Apu Pachatusan and the entire Pisaq valley.   You find the vehicle to go down to the village of Amaru. Lunch with Rufina, a resident of the community.   After lunch, descent by vehicle and visit of the archaeological site of Pisac , one of the main archaeological sites of the Inca culture composed of important agricultural terraces and different districts (administrative, religious and military) scattered throughout the mountain. Day 11: Cusco - Puno

Transfer from your hotel to Cusco train station. On the route from Cusco to Puno, discover the magnificent landscapes of the Andean highlands aboard PeruRail's Titicaca train. Day 12: Puno-Ccotos Peninsula-Paramis

Departure at 8 a.m. from Puno by private vehicle to Ccotos. On arrival in Cotos, you board a typical small sailboat to sail towards the island of Ticonata (30-40 minutes by sailboat). Along the way, you will discover how the locals practice fishing, an artisanal method still practiced by many families in the village. You will enjoy very beautiful panoramas of the Lake. Return by sailboat to Ccotos then to Paramis by private vehicle.   Lunch included in Paramis in a local house.   The afternoon is dedicated to discovering the daily life, know-how and customs of the Paramis community . Your host will introduce you to the medicinal plants used in the region then you will prepare together a traditional dish of the community, Quispiño made with quinoa.   Dinner and night at a local’s home. Visit the Chullpas of Sillustani, circular funerary towers built in stone by pre-Incan civilizations, and can reach twelve meters high.   You will then continue towards Juliaca airport. Day 14: Lima - Return

Go on a gastronomic tour on foot in the artistic and bohemian district of Barranco. On the program, a panoramic tour of this emblematic district of Lima and tasting of traditional dishes and drinks of Peruvian gastronomy. In addition to tasting some of the most representative dishes, such as empanada de aji de gallina , lomo saltado and la causa , you will participate in culinary demonstrations to discover, step by step, how to make ceviche , as well as the famous Pisco sour cocktail . You will also participate in an interactive workshop on Peruvian biodiversity and cocoa.   During the 4 hours, your guide will tell you the cultural and historical anecdotes hiding behind each of these specialties.
